Memorial Day, 2006

Good morning, world! The Piepmeier family is looking forward to a good brats cookout by the Dad in just a few hours. I hope the rain stays away for the duration. It would be nice to be outside as much as possible...maybe even use the deck for more than grilling.

Our biggest news right now is that Walter Biffle graduated yesterday from University of Massachussets and now has his MFA! Congratulations, Walter! We're really proud of you! It's especially nice that he'll now be moving to Charleston - lock, stock & barrel - to finally be with Alison full-time, after 7 years of marriage! (Their anniversary is today!) I'm so pleased for them both.

Trey and Megan are getting married next April. (We've known this for nearly 2 months, but I just haven't been inspired to blog. Now that everyone else in the family is blogging - including Lee! - maybe I'll jump on the band wagon.)

Aaron and Mary have a new puppy, EV, a white husky. I guess she's about 10-12 weeks old now. They've been taking her to obedience classes, and it's amazing to watch her develop and learn. She keeps most of their free time full!

Things don't change that much for me. I will probably have a bit more free time this summer, as students take a break. A few will continue through the summer with time-out for vacations here and there, but few enough that I have them all on Monday and Tuesday, instead of 4 days a week. Another reason for more free time is that Aaron is now doing most of his own bookkeeping for Gridge's. Lee and I were gone for most of April, so Aaron had to learn to do most of what I was doing for him. He's continued that since we got back, with the freedom to ask questions when he needs to.

Happy Memorial Day to you all, and have a safe day.

I guess that's all for now. Most of our family's news is on each of their own blogs. I'll need to get Trey to show me how to add their links here one of these days.
