The newest thing in my life right now is a new Camry Hybrid! I was outside of Ashville, NC last Friday, when we were to pick it up, so Lee and Trey got it for me. I didn't get to see it (at home, that is) until Saturday, after dark - but that didn't stop me from taking it for a spin! It's really nice. The only drawback for trips is that the battery is in the trunk space, so the trunk is smaller than a regular Camry.
I was in NC last Friday and Saturday for a Leadership Training retreat put on by UMMAS (Unity Ministers of the Mid-Atlantic States). It was very good, as usual.
This has been a year of more-than-usual travel for me, and it sounds as if it'll be continuing on in that way for the next while. Next Wednesday Trey and Megan, Lee and I will be taking off for Charleston, SC for a visit with Alison and Walter, returning on Saturday so Lee and I won't miss a church service, (especially as we'll be missing 2 in August!). Then August 18 we have reservations for the condo we rent in Destin, FL, and will be there until the 27th. That's a Sunday. The next Tuesday I leave for Hendersonville, NC (just outside Asheville) for a 4-day Unity retreat - again, for the churches of UMMAS. Whew! I'm not entirely sure how I feel about being gone from home that much in such quick succession, but I'm sure it'll be fun.
Aaron and Mary are here now, in the interim between moving out of their apartment and moving into their house in Nashville. They're having challenges with the cats upstairs, building barracades to keep them up there and away from our cats, but so far other things have been quite smooth. Max and EV are getting along better and better - they love each other, but their "play" can be intense! They're getting so they can be calm around each other, too.
So...that's what's going on with me and mine just now. Usually it seems that my life just goes on in a rather "normal" fashion that wouldn't be very interesting to blog about! Thanks, Megan, for suggesting that it was time to post again - at a time when there were some more unusual things going on!
